History

The Chicago SCORES Cup started in 2006 and is now one of the biggest fundraisers for America SCORES Chicago.  The idea was simple–to bring together our city’s corporations for a day of friendly soccer competition, all for the support of our city’s youth.

During the season, America SCORES brings free after-school programming to 500 students in 10 Chicago Public Schools.  Our students, referred to as poet-athletes, participate in writing, soccer and service-learning workshops throughout the year.  Each Friday they meet to play soccer against other schools in their community.

America SCORES wanted to bring this experience to our city’s adults.  The event builds employee morale, teamwork and competitive spirit, and is an opportunity to meet other professionals in the city.
